Tenses: the Past, Present, and Future

17 Mar

“I never look back, darling. It distracts from the now.” – Edna Mode, “The Incredbles”

Wise words, those. And very Christian, too. Think about it; what does the Bible say about looking back and paying mind to the now? There are many Bible verses on this same topic, and lets not forget Lot’s wife who looked back and became a pillar of salt. It can be easy to look back with worry or shame and forget to live and plan for the future, but that’s exactly what we need to do. The past is gone and nothing will change that. Better to focus on what you can do now to further your life later.

“Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift. That is why it is called the present.”

The past, the present, and the future all met in a bar.

    It was a tense moment.

    🙂
